
Tucson Marathon
Net downhill courses along the foothills of the Santa Catalina mountains run since 1969. The full Marathon, 50K & Marathon Relay start at Biosphere 2 near Oracle and run down past Catalina, through Oro Valley and finishing at Pima Community College Northwest Campus.
The Half Marathon starts at Golder Ranch Fire Administration in Catalina and runs down through Oro Valley, join The Loop Bike Path next to the Cañada del Oro to the finish at Pima Community College.

Experience a breathtaking point-to-point journey at the Tucson Marathon!
The course begins at the iconic Biosphere 2 near Oracle, AZ, and finishes at Pima Community College Northwest Campus near Oro Valley. Primarily downhill, this paved course offers runners a fast, scenic route with stunning desert vistas and distant views of the Santa Catalina Mountains.
Please note that there is a .5 mile walk from the staging area to the start line. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to head over to the start.
The first 2 miles feature rolling hills, so be prepared for a gentle uphill to the top of the Biosphere gates, then some rollers before turning onto Highway AZ-77 at mile 2.8. From there, enjoy a smooth descent as you make your way toward Tucson. At mile 18, the course diverts onto the Cañada del Oro River Park Bike Path, where you'll continue through the Town of Oro Valley and the finish line.
The Tucson Marathon is USATF Certified Course and serves as a Boston Marathon Qualifier—perfect for those chasing a PR or qualifying for Boston!

Each team will need to provide one vehicle to drive together to the different exchange points. There are three exchange points as follows. We have included a parking pass on the last page of an email sent to all teams. You will be driving along and around the course so please be cognizant of other runners as you will briefly need to cross and/or drive on the course near Exchange point 1 at Oracle Junction

Host Hotel Private Shuttle
For those participants staying at the host hotel (El Conquistador Tucson) and using the official booking code, you will have a private shuttle bus to either the Marathon/50K start line or the Half-Marathon start line. Only those booking their stay with the official booking code part of our room block will be on the shuttle bus list from the host hotel.
Post Race Shuttles
Buses will be continuously running from the race finish line back to each of the shuttle parking areas throughout the day starting at 8:30am. Please note which shuttle location you are going back to posted on each bus.
Spectator Finish Parking
We encourage on-site parking available at Pima Community College Northwest Campus (finish line).
We welcome spectators at the Tucson Marathon, but please follow these rules and guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone:
START LINE (Marathon / 50KM)
Location: Biosphere 2
Spectator access is available, but arrival must be before 6:30 AM.
Biosphere Road closes from 6:30 AM to 8:00 AM. After the race starts, spectators must remain on-site until 8:00 AM before leaving.
You are welcome to stay at Biosphere 2 to enjoy the atmosphere and still have ample time to see your runner along the course and at the finish line.

This is also Relay Exchange Point #2.
Plenty of parking available at the school.
A great mid-course location to cheer on runners in the marathon OR Park here to walk to the Half Marathon start, less than one mile away.

Packet Pickup
General Information
Your Tucson Marathon race packet will include your official race bib (with timing chip attached), runner t-shirt (not guaranteed after 11/24), race day drop bag and any additional goodies. These will be available for pickup at the following locations & during our Race Expo.
Friday Packet Pickup in Phoenix
We've added a Friday packet pickup for our Phoenix runners & anyone arriving into town early into Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. Located conveniently at the Aravaipa Running HQ adjacent to Sky Harbor.

Join us for the 2025 Tucson Marathon expo located at our finish line - Pima Community College North West Campus. We'll have some of our event partners and sponsors on site as well as our new upgraded merchandise store.

All runners will receive a drop bag at packet pickup.
On race day, you may bring your belongings to the start line using this bag. Please ensure your drop bag is securely tied to prevent items from falling out during transport.
Drop bags will be transported to the finish line, where you can retrieve them after the race at Pima Community College Northwest Campus.

Tucson International Airport (TUS)
Just a 45 minute drive from Tucson International to the host hotel at El Conquistador, Tucson offers quite a few non-stop flights from many major cities and serviced by Alaska Air, American Airlines, Delta, Flair Air, Southwest, Sun Country & United.
Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport (PHX)
A 1 hour 45 minute drive to the host hotel at El Conquistador, Phoenix Sky Harbor is one of the largest airports in the country and serviced by all major airlines, ensuring easy access to the race from almost anywhere in the world.
Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (AZA)
The smaller Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport is a 2 hour drive to the host hotel at El Conquistador but offers access to some other airlines including Allegiant.
