Cocodona Lottery & Waitlist Info
Due to the rapid growth in the race’s popularity, starting with the 2027 Cocodona 250 presented by Altra, we will be transitioning to a lottery system.

Timing
- Lottery Opens: Friday, May 1st at 2:50pm Pacific Time.
- Lottery Closes: Monday, May 18th at 2:50pm Pacific Time.
- Lottery Date: The lottery results will be announced on Monday, June 1st at 5:00pm Pacific Time.
- Lottery Processing: Lottery winners will have their credit cards processed and be added to the entrants list, waitlist or removed from the event on Tuesday, June 2nd.
Lottery System and Ticket Breakdown

Tickets:
All lottery applicants will receive 1 ticket for entering the lottery.
Additional tickets will be earned for the following categories:
- Previous Finishers - 1 additional ticket for each previous finish of any Cocodona race distance including Cocodona 250, Sedona Canyons 125, Bradshaw Brute 100, Mingus Traverse 80 & Flagstaff Crest 40 (2021 to 2026 editions) for up to 3 additional tickets - maximum of 1 per year
- Core Volunteers - 1 additional ticket for 30* hours (300-499 volunteer credits) of volunteering at the previous year’s Cocodona (2 tickets for 50+ hours or 500 credits of volunteering). Volunteering prior to 2026 will not count towards a lottery ticket. Volunteer tickets may not be rolled over between years - they are only good for one lottery cycle.
*Most volunteers will earn $10/hr of UltraSignup credit. Aid station captains, assistant captains and sport therapy volunteers earn credits at a higher rate. Race management will determine the number of extra tickets volunteers earn based on .
Ticket Count Rules:
- Lottery tickets cannot be transferred
- Additional lottery tickets for finishes and volunteering subject to verification by race management.
Gender Balance
The lottery odds will be determined based on the percentage breakdown of the lottery entrants, with 7% added to the women’s application percentage. For example, if 71% of the lottery is male and 29% is female - the lottery pull will be 64% male and 36% female.
The 7% added female entrants only will occur if the percentage of women applying for the race is below 43% female. When the percentage of female applicants reaches 44%, we will only pull 6% additional female registrants and so on. Once 50% of the lottery applicants to the race are female, we will pull lottery applicants at random.
Non-binary athletes should register for the lottery in the non-binary division and will be placed in the lottery.
Waitlist
Two waitlists will be created, one male and one female. After the first 475 entrants are pulled, 300 people will be placed on the two waitlists - 150 female and 150 male.
Waitlist applicants will be selected to join the race as participants withdraw. If a female drops from the entrants list, a female will be invited off of the female waitlist (and vice versa). If the female waitlist is exhausted, the invite will fall to the male waitlist. If invited off of the waitlist, you have 3 days to respond to the invite.
2027 Cocodona 250 Pricing - $1,995
Plus applicable credit card proccessing fees, registration platform fees & taxes.
All other race distances will have standard registration - no lottery.
- Sedona Canyons Registration Opens: June 3nd at 8:00am Pacific Time.
- The Bradshaw Brute Registration Opens: June 4rd at 8:00am Pacific Time.
- Mingus Traverse Registration Opens at June 5th at 8:00am Pacific Time.
- Flagstaff Crest Registration Opens at June 6th at 8:00am Pacific Time.
Charity Bib Information
Charity bibs will be available for runners who have successfully gained entry to Cocodona via the lottery. For all other distance charity bibs, please sign up HERE. 2027 race registration coming soon.
Elite Entries
Elite entries are given at the discretion of Aravaipa.
