Course Sweeps
We will need 2 people per section of trail to hike behind the last runner and clear the trail of course markings and any litter. As a sweep, you must stay with the last runners as a critical safety precaution. You are our safety eyes and ears for those last runners. If you do not feel comfortable taking on this responsibility, there are many fun roles in the party environment at our aid stations for you to consider. This is not a casual trail run on course, but a serious role requiring a high level of experience and knowledge. Please only sign up if you understand the gravity of this position and can commit fully to this important task.
This should not be your first course sweep position. This is a graduate level volunteer position, and we will not accept you into this role if you do not have the appropriate experience. RD will follow up to confirm that you have the appropriate background to take on this serious role. Shuttle coordination will be your responsibility with your co-sweep volunteer - the race organization can't provide this logistic support to you.

Medical
We have a medical provider, MedStar, who will be in charge of all things medical. Your role will be to assist MedStar should the need arise with a specific focus on footcare issues (cleaning, blisters, taping, KT tape, etc).
It isn’t a glamorous job but for some runners, it can mean the difference between a DNF and a buckle. Super important but kinda gross. What can we say, we’ll have nitrile gloves for you.
