Great Lakes Endurance
Great Lakes Endurance has been producing premier trail running events across Michigan and Wisconsin since 2000, starting with the Keweenaw Trail Running Festival. Over the years the series has grown to include stunning courses like Grand Island, Tahqua, Two Hearted, Waugoshance, and Rock River Canyon, each showcasing the beauty of the Great Lakes region. Participants are drawn to the combination of scenic wilderness settings, well-organized races, and a welcoming community that celebrates the challenge and camaraderie of trail running.
While known for its breathtaking courses and memorable race experiences, Great Lakes Endurance was also an early innovator in mindful race practices. From the beginning, the organization built its events around respect for the lands they traverse—pioneering low-waste races, sourcing local food, and partnering with area schools and conservation groups. These efforts earned recognition from publications like Runner’s World and Trail Runner Magazine, and remain part of the organization’s DNA today. The focus, however, has always been on delivering exceptional trail races that inspire runners and connect them deeply to the landscapes and communities of the Great Lakes.
