Runners who complete the 2015 Black Canyon 100K will be eligible to earn a spot in the 2015 Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run. In addition to a finish at the Montrail Ultra Cup race, eligible runners must have entered in the 2015 Western States lottery and participate in an online social media campaign showing your “Western States toughness”. Western States 100 Last Chance Lottery 2015
Portland, Oregon – December 10, 2014 – Montrail, and the Western States 100 are excited to announce that for the first time ever Western States 100 applicants who did not get their name drawn in the lottery will have an additional “Last Chance” to get into the race.
Five additional lotteries will be conducted, one after each of the Montrail Ultra Cup events, with one winner from each lottery. Anyone that was entered in the 2015 Western States lottery is eligible. To enter any of the “Last Chance” lotteries eligible participants will need to enter and finish that specific Montrail Ultra Cup event. Additionally they will register on the Western States 100 Last Chance Lottery page that will be going live on the Montrail Facebook page in the coming weeks. To do so they’ll need to supply an image of themselves running, and an associated caption that best displays their Western States “toughness”. So we’re looking for their steepest, longest, nastiest run with a quick associated caption that includes the following hashtags: #Montrail, #WS100LastChance. Eligible entrants can post one image with a caption that compels the social audience to vote for them. Entrants are encouraged to share their photo and story on all of their social networks with those same hashtags. The 10 entrants with the most likes during the two weeks leading up to the event will be entered into the lottery which will be held in the days following the race.
