This is my fourth year on the racing team, but running has been part of my life since I was nine. I started out riding my bike while my dad ran—though it wasn’t long before we switched roles. Lacking the coordination for traditional team sports, I found a natural talent for distance running that helped me excel as the top runner on my high school team in Fargo, ND, and later at my alma mater, St. John’s University (MN).
In 2013, I moved to Phoenix for a Teach for America position and have called Arizona home ever since. My favorite training spot is Flagstaff, where the crisp mountain air, endless running routes, and speedy company make it a runner’s paradise.
Outside of running, I enjoy writing, videography, and traveling the world. My signature running quirk? I can’t stop coming up with “runner remixes” of popular songs mid-run…a habit that’s fueled my creative side hustle, Trail GangstAZ!
