“Last Chance” WS100 2015 Spots – Montrail Ultra Cup **Update**

Jamil CouryNews, Press Release

There has been an update to the recently announced “Last Chance” spots available through the Montrail Ultra Cup races including Aravaipa Running’s Black Canyon 100K. The social media voting requirement has been removed, meaning all finishers of each Ultra Cup race who were not selected in the 2015 Western States 100 Lottery will be eligible for the 1 extra spot. You will still need to register through Montrail and submit a photo. Here is the official update from Montrail brand manager Eron Osterhaus:

“The ultra trail community spoke, and we’ve listened. Effective immediately there will be no voting in the Last Chance Lottery, and all eligible applicants that register through the registration page that will go live on the Montrail Facebook page in the coming weeks will be entered into the Last Chance Lottery for any Montrail Ultra Cup event they finish. The registration process, with photo, will remain the same, with the only difference being there will be no voting. Any eligible registered entrant will be entered into the lottery after the event. Entrants are still limited to those that entered the 2015 Western States Lottery and did not get their name pulled. Likewise those eligible entrants will still need to enter and finish the Montrail Ultra Cup event whose lottery they are entering.

We are very excited to offer this new (and updated!) opportunity for those hungry for a spot in the Western States Endurance Run to get a Last Chance at entry, and are happy we’ve been able to make it even that much more accessible. Looking forward to seeing everyone’s pictures, and seeing you all out on the trails!”
